Next generation 7-Series will get fully-electric drivetrain

Published on

BMW has today announced its flagship model will be getting a fully-electric option – the announcement was made today by the manufacturer alongside positive performance figures.

Details of the new 7-Series are sparse, but the vehicle which could be otherwise known as the i7, will also be available with a ‘highly efficient’ diesel engine and an electrified plug-in hybrid option.

The news came as the manufacturer released strong performance figures for 2019, but does expect significant impacts due to the Corona virus.

We expect the ‘i7’ will be the target vehicle for new autonomous driving technology and could have an electric range of around 300 miles. There’s no details as to when we could expect the new model.
