Driving apart, all the other necessary parts of our job are discussed such as dress, deportment, etiquette and professional standards but perhaps not in as much detail as some other courses which are aimed very much at those wanting to join the profession with absolutely no knowledge. You won’t be getting taught the best way to wash a car on this course, nor will you be taken to explore the terminals at any major airport. Mark and Dave cover the correct and most formal way to do everything to a high standard and, as we working chauffeurs know, it is then up to us to adapt what you learn accordingly to each specific client or job you end up doing.
One important point though, employment opportunities in our industry are looked at in detail and it’s worth mentioning that both Mark and Dave are well connected people so that’s why a secure page will soon be added to BDT’s website advertising chauffeur positions that the guys hear about through their extensive network.
I won’t mince my words here, I’m prepared to admit that this course successfully turned much of my professional thinking regarding my job on its head, that’s how strong an impact it had and I loved every last second of it. Mark and Dave successfully awakened me to the realisation that despite having a lot of years chauffeuring and close protection experience under my belt, those two differing roles still hadn’t come close to giving me all of the relevant skills required to operate as a protection driver, there was simply way more to learn about doing the role properly than I’d ever imagined or encountered before.
This course makes a mockery of the old adage that you can’t teach old dogs new tricks because not only did it teach this middle-aged mongrel a load of new stuff, it confirmed the fact that chauffeuring is indeed a proud profession and advanced driving a very genuine skill. This course really is the business in every sense of the word and, as you might have already gathered, I highly recommend it to chauffeurs old and new.”
