Thousands of Chauffeur vehicles to be recalled

Published on

Mercedes-Benz has announced a recall of thousands of its vehicles across Europe to cut toxic nitrogen oxide (NOx) gases.

Around 3 million vehicles are affected but it’s unknown how many UK models will need a software update to fix the issue.

Potentially thousands of chauffeur vehicles could be recalled as models housing a 3.0 V6 diesel engine will need to be returned to a Mercedes-Benz dealer for the ‘voluntary’ update. Chauffeurs owning an S-Class, Viano, GL or V-Class are expected to be affected.

Officials have told the media customers will not be forced to have the work done and their warranty will not be cancelled if the work is not carried out.

Owners will be contacted by their local dealerships to arrange an appointment which takes around 60 minutes to complete.
