Merge of Chauffeur firms could create UK's largest operation

Published on

Two large London based chauffeur companies have become one to boast a combined fleet of almost 350 vehicles, making it one of the largest UK based operations.

Cabot Global Group recently announced the acquisition of Sovereign Executive Cars (London) Ltd which has 20 years in the executive chauffeur market. The move comes as Cabot Global also expands its services to North-East England.

Sovereign Executive Cars will continue to operate under its own identity but within the Cabot Group Structure. Mark Hughes and Sue Kite will remain in control of the day to day operations, whilst Mark will at the same time join the board of Cabot Global Group and undertake the role of Head of Sales & Marketing.

Over the coming months, as the businesses become progressively interlinked, whilst Sovereign will retain control of its own clientele, Cabot will look to integrate the new fleet into its existing operations and will be deploying its market-leading technology right across the businesses to enhance services even further for the benefit of its clients. The transition will be carefully managed to guarantee business continuity.
In the last two years Cabot Global has made substantial investments in the development of ground breaking technology and training. This is an ongoing investment programme which will give the company and its clients substantial benefits through the economies of scale achieved with the acquisition of Sovereign Executive Cars.

Farooq Saleem assumed the role of CEO at Cabot Global in 2009 and has steered the company to rapid growth through a valuable programme of improvements in service quality and training standards.

Farooq commented; “I am very proud of what we have achieved over the last few years. These are challenging times for the ground transport industry but we have made this acquisition in the knowledge that whilst it is a major development in the growth of our business, we do it from a stable foundation and with the benefit of a solid business, and strong and substantial investment in our staff, fleet and technology.

He added; “In addition, Mark and Sue will strengthen our existing management team. Together, I truly believe we are capable of becoming the market leader in this industry. I would like to take this opportunity of thanking our existing management team, staff and in particular our chauffeurs who have helped me achieve what we have to date.
