Are Limos really pretty in Pink?

Pink Limousines are sweeping the country and becoming one of the most wanted limos for proms and weddings. Is this just a phase or are they here to stay?

All over the UK, operators are starting to promote the oldest cars on their fleet — especially after the interior has been re-upholstered and the paintwork now resembles big girl’s blouse. The pink limousines which are now being seen in every town are making more money than ever before.

Companies are getting a huge demand for pink cars especially as the prom season approaches and since the Civil Partnership ceremonies. Home James, based in Birmingham, is just one of the many businesses which has been successful in the pink market and grown their fleet of newer, more sophisticated vehicles to cater for the call.

Julie Parsons from Home James commented; “As predicted, it is proving to be extremely popular, however it has to be said that this is a limited marketplace and our success with this vehicle is largely down to the fact that it is only one of a limited number in this area.”

“We would not consider replacing our white limos (which is our bread and butter) with pink limos and would probably not consider getting a second pink one. However, we have added the ‘Pinkie’ to the fleet as an ‘extra string to our bow’. We also know that if there is a sudden influx of pink limos into our area, as has been seen in some parts of the country, the watered down portion of business available would not be sufficient for it to earn its keep.”, she added.

Even though the limos are proving to be blank cheques, some operators feel that pink limousines are harder work to get booked up, as it takes a certain type of client to hire it. Mixed groups of men and women are reluctant to book it as the guys are far too self-conscious to be seen in one, so it only leaves hen nights and proms which really make the money.

A1 Stretch based in Hemel Hempstead invested in a pink limousine a while ago, and described it as the most popular car on its fleet, which is saying something considering the fact A1 offers anything from Bentley’s to Hummers for hire.

Eddy Ellis from A1 Stretch commented; “We are first hand proof that pink limousines really do enhance any fleet and really makes an impression. There is no better way of making your company not only stand out from the rest, but it will also make your business stay in your clients’ minds making them return in the future.”

Operators can often give an older vehicle a new lease of life for around £4,000, which could be a gamble, but if the call is out there, it will one which won’t be regretted.

The makers of the Blue Crush launched the ‘Pink Crush’ to the UK market in 2006, which was expected to take the pink market by storm. LCW Automotive says it responded to the call for pink cars and using the same proven formula as the Blue Crush which was launched in 2004.

So it seems that even though the call for the biggest and newest limousines is still better than ever, operators are now being given an added bonus when it comes to replacing an older vehicle or those looking for new promotion ideas.
