Limo operators prepare for busy 2010 prom season

Operators of limousines throughout the UK have reported in record pre-bookings for the 2010 school prom season.

For many companies, they thrive on local school prom bookings which seem to be starting earlier each and every year. The last two years have also been reported as being extremely successful, but early indications show that most companies are preparing to be flat out this year.

Although many groups of school children are being forced to find alternative ways to get to their prom due to a lack of disposable cash, some operators have reported an influx of early bookings as clients are being forced to plan their limo as soon as possible.

Richard Farney from VIP Limousines told thechauffeur.com; “I normally experience a very busy school prom season anyway, but it seems as if groups are sorting out their transport a good six months before their event.

He added; “I think the word has got around that there are fewer limousine operators around now and some people have been disappointed as they have left it too late to book a limousine. We are still getting top rates and expect to have our full fleet out in the 2010 season.”

Those operators who do not tend to see bookings until February are being encouraged to promote their services early this year and get ahead of their competitors. Due to recent press publicity on new over eight seater limousine licensing, the industry is expecting to experience an influx of enquiries as to the legal situation for the large SUV vehicles.
